Operational Resilience & Improvement Manager - London | Risk – Legal | Full-time
About the role
My client are seeking an Operational Resilience & Improvement Manager to strengthen how the business runs day to day. Reporting to the VP of Risk, you'll review and enhance existing processes and procedures, reduce fraud, human error and quality issues, and ensure that lessons learned from incidents drive lasting, continuous improvement and reliable service delivery.
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys getting under the hood of operational processes, spotting risk and control gaps, and turning insight into action.
What you'll do
- Review and assess end-to-end operational processes to identify risk, control gaps and improvement opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce fraud exposure, human error and quality issues
- Provide senior operational support during incidents, ensuring effective escalation and coordination
- Lead root cause analysis and translate lessons learned into lasting process and control improvements
- Strengthen operational controls, standards and ways of working
- Monitor recurring issues, track remediation actions and measure the effectiveness of improvements
- Support audits, partner due diligence and operational risk assessments with clear evidence and insight
What you'll bring
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management or a related field
- Strong knowledge of operational risk, resilience and control frameworks
- Experience reviewing and improving operational processes and procedures
- An understanding of fraud risk, error prevention and quality management controls
- A proven track record leading root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Confidence in incident management and high-pressure operational situations
- Strong analytical skills to identify underlying risk drivers from data, incidents and trends
- Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to influence without authority
- Strong written and verbal communication, including senior-level reporting
- Commercial awareness, with a focus on efficiency, reliability and trust
Nice to have
- A professional qualification in risk, audit or operational resilience (e.g. IRM, CII, ICA, ISACA)
- Training in process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
- Training in incident management, business continuity or operational resilience frameworks
