HGV Class 1 Driver - Temporary (Ongoing) | Tamworth | £19.50 p/h | Immediate Start

The Assignment

We have an immediate requirement for HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join a well-established automotive logistics provider based in Tamworth. This is an ongoing temporary assignment, with the potential for long-term work for the right candidates.

What the Work Involves

Working independently on scheduled night routes, your duties will include:
- Nationwide delivery of automotive parts including cages, pallets (engines/gearboxes), and light boxed items
- Offloading goods using a pump truck or manual handling where required
- Completing between multiple drops per shift depending on route
- Adhering to all road safety and site health & safety procedures
Routes may include locations such as Manchester, Bolton, Scunthorpe, Exeter, Southampton, Berkeley and surrounding areas.

Hours, Shifts & Pay

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday nights (start times between 21:30 - 00:30)
Pay rate: £19.50 per hour
Pay frequency: Weekly
Holiday pay: Accrued and paid weekly
No weekend work - consistent routes and stable schedules.

What We Need From You

- Minimum 1 year of Class 1 (C+E) driving experience
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Maximum of 6 penalty points (no DD, DR, IN or CD endorsements)
- Physically fit and comfortable with light manual handling / pump truck use
- Safety boots and hi-vis required
- Right to work in the UK - documentation required prior to start

Assessment Process

All candidates will attend a site-based assessment including:
- Highway Code theory test
- Reversing onto a bay and yard manoeuvres
- 45-minute on-road driving assessment
Successful candidates will complete induction and onboarding on the same day.
