Job description
About the Team:
The Easter Howgate Farm team consists of six full-time staff working across a busy mixed farming operation. Day-to-day activities include livestock management, tractor work, grassland and arable operations, fencing, maintenance and supporting the farm's teaching and research programmes.
We are a close-knit team that values hard work, flexibility and a positive attitude, and we are looking for someone who can work well alongside others while taking pride in maintaining high standards across the farm.
The Opportunity:
Bush Farms at Easter Howgate Farm is seeking a dedicated and adaptable General Farm Worker to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a hands-on agricultural environment where no two days are the same. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to the day-to-day management of the farm, applying a multi-skilled approach to a wide range of practical tasks. The role also offers a rewarding element of supporting student learning, providing a unique chance to combine agricultural work with mentoring and pastoral care in a safe and supportive setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates should have demonstrable practical experience in tractor operation, machinery use and general farm activities, with a sound understanding of health and safety requirements. Experience of livestock and arable operations would be advantageous. The ability to work effectively within a team and support students in a practical environment is essential. A formal agricultural qualification is desirable but not required where relevant experience can be evidenced.
