Mane Contract Services is looking for a Programme Manager

Job description

Sub-contract Programme Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a highly capable Sub-contract Programme Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of high-value subcontracted services within a major shipbuilding programme. This is a pivotal role where you will manage the full subcontract lifecycle—from supplier sourcing and tendering through to contract execution and close-out.

You will play a key role in ensuring subcontracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Using your expertise in NEC3/NEC4 contracts, you’ll proactively identify risks, support robust commercial outcomes, and foster strong collaboration between suppliers and internal delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of strategically important on-site subcontracts with a combined value exceeding £50m, ensuring alignment with time, cost, and quality objectives
  • Manage subcontractor performance through regular engagement, reviews, and KPI tracking
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting on progress, financial performance, and risks to senior stakeholders
  • Support dispute resolution processes, working closely with key stakeholders to achieve positive commercial outcomes and resolve claims
  • Maintain high standards across Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) compliance
  • Promote a collaborative “One Team” culture across all stakeholders and suppliers

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in contract management within a supply chain environment (defence, aerospace, automotive, or similar sectors)
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, processes, and best practices
  • Experience interpreting and managing customer requirements within complex programmes
  • Knowledge of legal frameworks relating to purchasing contracts and supplier agreements

About the Team

Join a dynamic, high-impact team that sits at the heart of a major, complex programme. This role offers exceptional exposure to senior stakeholders, varied challenges, and the opportunity to directly influence programme success.

You’ll be responsible for managing major onsite subcontracted services, ensuring suppliers meet and exceed expectations through strong contractual governance. Where challenges arise, you will take a proactive, solutions-driven approach to resolve issues and safeguard programme delivery.
