Research Technician - Life Sciences, Biotechnology


The location of the role is Stevenage.

The duration of the contract is 12 months.

The pay rate on offer is £16 per hour (via PAYE - 37.5 hours per week).


Role Summary

The Research Technician – Method Development is responsible for delivering results in developing and evaluating next-gen chromatography media.


This position reports to the Manager, Analytical Methods, and is part of the Fibro R&D department located in Stevenage and will be an on-site role.


Key accountabilities of the role

  • Support the design, execution, and documentation of method optimisation experiments for analytical methods related to membrane chromatography products.
  • Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing, ensuring accurate and reliable data generation.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and maintain proper documentation of experimental results.
  • Provide support to ensure laboratory compliance to Environment Health & Safety regulations
  • Collaborate with scientists to support development activities in monoclonal antibody purification workflows.


Key skills and experience

  • You will have a Master’s degree in a bioscience-based subject
  • You will have at least 1 year of experience using AKTA systems
  • You will have experience working in a regulated lab


Desirable experience

  • Preparing presentations and written reports to support decision-making in multifaceted projects
  • Working in cross-disciplinary teams
  • Use of SEC-HPLC or ProA-HPLC
  • Familiar with Analytical Method Development
