Junior HR Administrator (3-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Milton Keynes (Hybrid - minimum 3 days in the office)
£25,300 per annum (pro rata)

We're looking for a Junior HR Administrator to join our HR team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full employee lifecycle and build a strong foundation in HR.

About the Role

As a Junior HR Administrator, you'll work closely with our HR Transactional Team, supporting both day-to-day HR operations and recruitment activities. You'll play a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient HR service for employees and managers, while gaining valuable exposure to HR systems, processes, and best practices.

This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same!

What You'll Be Doing

HR Administration & Support

  • Acting as a first point of contact for HR queries via email, Teams, and in person
  • Preparing new starter documentation, contracts, and onboarding materials
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems (SelectHR or similar)
  • Managing the central HR inbox and responding to enquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Supporting employee lifecycle processes including starters, movers, and leavers
  • Assisting with reports, presentations, and meeting administration
  • Carrying out pre-employment checks including references and right to work

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Supporting job postings across internal and external platforms
  • Scheduling interviews and coordinating with hiring managers
  • Assisting with candidate communications and feedback
  • Helping to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires

Team & Service Delivery

  • Working collaboratively with the HR team to deliver an excellent employee experience
  • Supporting process improvements and contributing new ideas
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and keen to learn.

Essential:

  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Confident communicator with great interpersonal skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • A positive, proactive, and "can-do" attitude
  • A strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively

Desirable:

  • Previous administrative or HR experience
  • Basic understanding of HR processes or employment law
  • Experience using HR systems (e.g., SelectHR or similar)
