HGV Class 2 Driver HIAB Training Available

Location: Cradley Heath, B64
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am 4:30pm

Starting Pay: £15.00 per hour (without HIAB licence)
Pay Rate Increases to £17.00 per hour upon successful HIAB qualification

Our client is looking to recruit a reliable and professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join their successful team in Cradley Heath.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Class 2 drivers who are looking to gain their HIAB licence and increase their earning potential. Candidates who do not currently hold a HIAB qualification are encouraged to apply, as full HIAB training and certification can be provided for the right individual.

This is a permanent, ongoing position offering stable, long-term employment with a market-leading business. The role involves approximately 78 drops per day, delivering building and construction materials to customer sites and building projects throughout the region.

As an HGV Driver, you will be the face of the business, providing a safe, efficient, and professional delivery service to customers and branch locations.

The Role

• Carry out multi-drop deliveries and collections to customer sites and company depots.

• Complete approximately 78 deliveries per day to building and construction sites.

• Safely load, transport and unload building and construction materials.

• Complete all relevant delivery documentation accurately.

• Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure compliance with transport regulations.

• Deliver exceptional customer service at every delivery point.

• Maintain high standards of vehicle care, safety and professionalism.

• Work closely with depot colleagues to ensure efficient daily operations.

• Following successful HIAB training, operate a rear-mounted grab crane using remote-control equipment in line with safety procedures and best practices.

• Drive modern automatic 26-tonne vehicles.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A valid Category C (Class 2) HGV licence.

• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.

• Previous Class 2 driving experience.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A positive, professional and reliable attitude.

• Good awareness of health and safety procedures.

• HIAB experience is desirable but not essential.

Applications are welcome from experienced Class 2 Drivers who do not currently hold a HIAB licence and are looking to gain this qualification through company-provided training.

Experience within the builders' merchant, construction or building supplies sector would be advantageous but is not required.
