Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Accounts Manager role located in Halifax. The Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing and reviewing statutory and management accounts, overseeing bookkeeping and VAT services, and providing tax compliance and planning solutions. The role also includes engaging with clients to deliver tailored advice and guidance, ensuring compliance with UK regulations, and maintaining strong client relationships through proactive communication and support.


Responsibilities will also include managing, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior accountants, reviewing corporation tax computations and returns, monitoring client deadlines and compliance requirements, and identifying opportunities to provide additional services and support to clients.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency in statutory accounts preparation, management accounts, and audit processes
  • Experience preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
  • Experience in bookkeeping and VAT submissions
  • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing client relationships
  • Strong organisational and time management capabilities with attention to detail
  • Qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent), or qualified by experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
