Assistant Tennis Coach (Level 1)

Job description

Within Sports & Leisure, we deliver a wide range of activities across multiple parks, including tennis, padel, swimming, boating, and more. Our tennis programme is a key part of this offer, providing inclusive, high-quality coaching for players of all ages and abilities.

We are now looking for dedicated Assistant Tennis Coaches (Level 1) to join us on a flexible basis on a casual contract.

The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James's Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.

We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other iconic green spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with tens of millions of visits every year.

The Role

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Level 1 Assistant Tennis Coaches to support the delivery of our coaching programmes at Regent's Park.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone starting their coaching career who is passionate about tennis and enjoys working with people in a vibrant outdoor environment. You will work alongside experienced Lead Coaches, helping deliver engaging sessions to juniors, adults, beginners, and community groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Lead Coaches in delivering structured and enjoyable tennis sessions
  • Help set up drills, organise groups, and manage equipment
  • Assist in junior and adult programmes, including holiday camps and outreach sessions
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive coaching environment
  • Provide excellent customer service to players, parents, and visitors
  • Support court setup, pack-down, and general venue presentation
  • Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare procedures

Additionally, you will:

  • Initiate meetings and briefing sessions with location managers and their colleagues and contractors as required.
  • Developing relationships with key industry professionals.
  • Staying in touch with developments in the filming industry, such as H&S legislation in relation to shoots and industry best practice.

About You

To be considered as an Assistant Tennis Coach, you will need:

  • Holds an LTA Level 1 Coaching Qualification
  • Has a passion for tennis and developing their coaching skills
  • Enjoys working with people and delivering great customer experiences
  • Communicates confidently and works well within a team
  • Is reliable, enthusiastic, and flexible (including weekend and holiday work)
  • Has an understanding of safeguarding and health & safety in a sports environment
