Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £95 - £120 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only
Start Date: September 2026

Overview

We are looking for an English Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils in English Language and Literature. This role is suitable for graduates aspiring to pursue a career in education.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students in English lessons across KS3-KS5
• Deliver targeted literacy intervention sessions (reading, writing, comprehension)
• Assist teachers with planning, marking support, and classroom activities
• Encourage engagement with literature and creative writing
• Provide 1:1 academic support where required

Requirements

• A degree in English, Literature, or a related discipline
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Passion for education and student development
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people
• Previous school experience is advantageous but not essential
