Senior Commercial Manager
Location: Birmingham, Bristol or Guildford
Contract Length: 6 Months
Day Rate: £750 – £850 per day (Inside IR35)

As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering strong commercial performance across a portfolio of projects, influencing strategic decisions while working closely with operational and supply chain partners. Key responsibilities
- Lead commercial and contract management across projects, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations
- Support investment decisions, budget planning and cost control across a diverse project portfolio
- Provide expert advice on contract administration, performance data and commercial improvements
- Oversee and support procurement activities, including tender reviews and contract documentation
- Analyse contract and cost performance, identifying opportunities to improve outcomes
- Build strong partnerships with internal teams and external suppliers
- Represent the commercial function in regional meetings and decision-making forums
- Lead and support commercial teams, providing guidance, mentoring and direction
- Contribute to forecasting and financial planning processes alongside operations teams
- Champion safe working practices and promote a positive wellbeing culture
Essential skills and requirements
- Strong experience in commercial and contract management within complex projects
- Ability to lead and develop teams, including matrix management responsibility
- Confident communicator who can influence decisions and align stakeholders
- Skilled in analysing complex information and translating it into clear actions
- Knowledge of NEC forms of contract and their practical application
- Experience supporting procurement and tender evaluation processes
- Strong commercial awareness with a focus on achieving value for money
- Collaborative approach with the ability to build effective working relationships
- Professional qualification such as RICS, ICE or equivalent
- Commitment to high standards of safety, integrity and performance
