Head Housekeeper

The home

Situated in the quiet, close knit village of Elworth, Sandbach in Cheshire, St Stephens is a purpose built 40 bedded care home which provides specialist residential and nursing care to older people and people living with dementia.

Key Responsibilities:

Housekeeping Management

• Supervise, support, and motivate housekeeping staff.
• Prepare staff rotas and allocate daily tasks.
• Monitor housekeeping performance and provide training where needed.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are met.

Cleaning and Hygiene

• Ensure all resident rooms, communal areas, offices, and facilities are cleaned to a high standard.
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention and control procedures.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are completed and documented.
• Respond promptly to spillages, hazards, and cleaning emergencies.

Health and Safety

• Ensure safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Conduct risk assessments relevant to housekeeping activities.
• Follow and promote health and safety policies and procedures.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards, and accidents promptly.
