Female Complex Care Assistant – Carlisle

Pay: £16.00 per hour (incl. Holiday pay)

Shifts: Nights & weekend day shifts available

Guaranteed hours available

About the Role

Routes Healthcare is hiring Complex Care Assistants to provide 1-to-1 specialist care in clients' own homes.

This specific care package is supporting children with complex health needs, so experience working with or caring for children is highly beneficial.

You'll deliver dedicated, clinical support while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and family-focused approach to care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1-2-1 care in a child's home environment
• Support with:
• Tracheostomy care & ventilation
• PEG feeding and nutritional support
• Medication management and clinical observations
• Personal care delivered with dignity and sensitivity
• Create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children
• Monitor and respond to changes in condition
• Maintain accurate care records
• Work closely with families and healthcare professionals

Requirements

Essential:

• 6+ months UK care experience (complex care preferred)
• Full UK driving licence + access to a car
• Right to work in the UK
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient
• Comfortable working with children in a home setting

Desirable:

• Previous experience supporting children
• Tracheostomy, ventilation or PEG feeding experience
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
