- Build professional, respectful, and trusting relationships with young people, creating a safe and welcoming environment.
- Work alongside individuals to understand their aspirations, strengths, goals, and support needs.
- Provide tailored one-to-one support through effective support planning and regular reviews.
- Help young people develop independent living skills, including budgeting, managing a tenancy, maintaining a home, and building positive relationships.
- Support young people to access education, training, employment, volunteering, and community opportunities.
- Encourage personal development, confidence, resilience, and positive decision-making.
- Support the day-to-day running of supported accommodation, ensuring a safe and positive environment for all residents.
- Assist with new move-ins, including preparing rooms, completing paperwork, and helping young people settle into their accommodation.
- Support residents to understand tenancy/licence agreements, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Monitor tenancy sustainment, support rent account management, and help reduce risks of tenancy breakdown.
- Work with housing partners and external agencies to support successful move-on into independent accommodation.
- Create a positive community atmosphere where young people feel valued, respected, and included.
- Challenge anti-social, discriminatory, or harmful behaviours appropriately to maintain a safe environment.
- Plan and deliver workshops, activities, and group sessions that support wellbeing, skills development, and personal goals.
- Encourage young people to engage positively within their local communities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, housing providers, local authorities, and external support agencies.
- Represent the service professionally at meetings, referrals, and partnership discussions.
- Identify safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate procedures to protect young people and vulnerable adults.
- Maintain accurate records, support plans, risk assessments, and case notes in line with confidentiality and GDPR requirements.
