Title: Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant

Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time (part time also considered)

Location: Inverness

Salary:£28,000 - £33,000 (depending on experience/qualifications)

Details:

Our client, a leading Accountancy Practice in the Inverness area, is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper. This is a busy and varied role with the opportunity for further personal and professional development within a highly supportive environment.

Duties include

Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts including posting and reconciling sales and purchase invoices.

Investigating and resolving discrepancies.

Bank reconciliations.

Preparation and submission of VAT returns.

Dealing with enquiries and providing advice and guidance to ensure best bookkeeping practice.

Collating accurate and up to date information.

Online submissions to HMRC

Communicating with a variety of internal and external contacts on a regular basis.

Daily use of accounting software systems as well as MS Office.


Person specification

Previous experience in a similar accounts/bookkeeping role.

Experience within a practice accounting environment is preferred.

Strong IT skills including MS Office and experience in accounting software.

Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.

Able to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Ability to undertake training and learn new skills, systems and procedures with ease.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to deal with clients and colleagues in a professional manner.
