Job description

About the role
The Major Projects & Exhibitions Department at the Ashmolean Museum delivers gallery redevelopments, temporary exhibitions and major cross-museum projects. You will join a creative and collaborative team, supporting the Museum's public engagement, exhibitions and commercial activities through inspiring visual design.

You will develop high-quality graphics for print and digital outputs, including marketing materials, exhibition graphics, gallery labels, signage and wayfinding. Working closely with colleagues across the Museum, you will manage multiple projects from concept to final production, ensuring all work reflects the Ashmolean's visual identity and brand standards.

You will also liaise with external suppliers, prepare print-ready artwork and contribute to the ongoing development of the Museum's design guidelines.

This is a full-time, permanent post, working 36.5 hours per week.

Working from home is possible up to two days per week.

About You
You will have a degree or equivalent in Graphic Design or a related discipline, alongside a strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, conceptual thinking and excellent typographic skills.

You will have experience working within an in-house design team or commercial studio, with strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

You will be highly organised, able to manage competing deadlines and confident presenting design solutions to a wide range of stakeholders.

Experience working with visual identities and brand guidelines is essential, alongside an understanding of print production and accessible design standards.

An interest in museums, galleries or the cultural sector would be advantageous.
