About This Role
John Rankin Schools are seeking to appoint After School Club Assistants to support the day‐to‐day organisation and delivery of our after school provision. The role will involve providing high standards of care, supervision and play opportunities for children aged 4–11 in a safe, secure and stimulating environment. The successful candidate will help create an inclusive setting where children can engage positively in activities that support their social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of structured and unstructured play activities that meet children's individual developmental needs.
Work directly with children to support participation, positive engagement and appropriate behaviour following school policies and procedures.
Supervise children's movement to and from the club, support setup and clearing away of resources, and use play equipment safely.
Report any concerns to the Club Supervisor or School Business Manager.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience of working with children aged 4–11 and an understanding of good quality childcare.
Reliable, responsible and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to organise time effectively and a proactive, flexible and adaptable approach to work.
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and a First Aid certificate are required.
Background check subject to an enhanced DBS and satisfactory references.
