Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Oxfordshire Region
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 + Package (DOE)
An established and highly respected construction contractor is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team.
Operating across the South of England, our client delivers an exceptional portfolio of bespoke residential, heritage, refurbishment and new-build projects for private clients, estates, architects and professional teams. Projects range from prestigious listed building restorations and country estate refurbishments through to high-end contemporary homes and specialist construction works.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a business renowned for quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor Description:Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, you will assist in the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Preparing enquiries, comparisons and subcontract documentation
- Processing subcontractor applications and payments
- Supporting cost reporting and forecasting
- Managing variations and change control
- Assisting with valuations and client applications
- Maintaining commercial records and project documentation
- Supporting final account negotiations
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure commercial success
- Experience within a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveying role
- Construction-related qualification (or working towards one)
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Experience within residential, refurbishment, heritage, fit-out or main contracting environments would be advantageous
- Eagerness to learn and progress within a supportive commercial team
