About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join a childrens residential service in Stafford supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate residential childcare professional looking to progress within a supportive and growing organisation that is committed to delivering high-quality care and positive outcomes for young people.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, leading shifts, mentoring staff, and ensuring high standards of care are consistently maintained.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead shifts and support the day-to-day operations of the home

  • Provide high-quality care and emotional support to children and young people

  • Promote positive outcomes, independence, and emotional wellbeing

  • Support young people with education, appointments, routines, and activities

  • Assist with care plans, risk assessments, and incident reporting

  • Administer medication in line with company policies and procedures

  • Support, guide, and mentor Residential Support Workers

  • Ensure safeguarding practices and Ofsted standards are maintained at all times

  • Build positive relationships with young people, families, and external professionals


Requirements
  • Previous experience within childrens residential care

  • Experience supporting young people with EBD and challenging behaviours

  • Level 3 Diploma in Childrens Residential Childcare (or working towards)

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends

  • Full UK Driving Licence preferred
