JUNIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER

Job description

We are a leading luxury furniture design and manufacturing company dedicated to crafting high-end furniture from our product range, custom versions as well as architectural metalwork for discerning clientele. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and ensure our products meet the highest standards of luxury and craftsmanship.

Job Summary
As a Junior Product Designer, you will contribute to the design and delivery of projects from initial concept through to final handover, working closely with and completing tasks assigned by our senior design team. You will demonstrate an active interest in the design industry and assist in the everyday running of projects and wider studio organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Execution:

Contribute to the design and delivery of projects, demonstrating a natural flair for design and exceptional attention to detail.

Work up designs from initial concepts to production drawings, assisting seniors with technical details.

Compose professional presentations and render designs to a high standard.

Organise and liaise with suppliers, request samples when necessary, and ensure all materials are accurately labeled and documented.

Thoroughly check all work and ensure a high level of accuracy across all technical outputs.

Project & Commercial Management:

Complete assigned tasks from senior team members efficiently and on time.

Demonstrate a basic understanding of suppliers, materials, and capabilities, with an eagerness to expand your knowledge.

Understand the whole team's key roles and abilities to ensure smooth collaboration.

Ensure strict compliance with our Standard Operating Procedures and our ISO9001 management system.

Client Management:

Assist the team in preparing for key client presentations.

Maintain excellent verbal and written communication within the team and with external suppliers.

Demonstrate a strong will to learn and develop your skill set under the guidance of senior team members.

Lead by example in instilling a positive attitude and help enforce studio protocol.

Requirements & Experience

1+ years of direct industry experience.

A natural flair for design with a strong interest in the industry, new designers, projects, and styles.

High proficiency in Fusion 360, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Excellent concept design, technical drawing, and rendering skills.

A proactive and positive attitude, with a strong willingness to learn and develop.

Must have an existing right to work in the UK.

Must have a car and be able to commute to Washington, Tyne & Wear.

Must be able to start within 4 weeks of a job offer.

A degree or background specifically in furniture design.

Metalworking knowledge.

Early Friday finish
