The Haematology and TYA services are seeking to appoint a Senior/Junior Haematology Clinical Trials Research Fellow to work alongside the research team and existing staff within the Palatine treatment centre. The role offers an exciting opportunity to gain experience in innovative early‐phase research in compliance with Good Clinical Practice and the Trust's clinical research policy.

Post holders will be responsible for reviewing new referrals, managing trial patients through all stages of the trial experience, and engaging with patients, families and clinicians. The role will also provide opportunities to gain clinical management experience of intensively treated Haematology oncology patients, including those receiving novel cellular therapies such as CAR‐T cell therapy and stem cell transplantation.

Responsibilities

Attend safety review committee meetings and liaise with principal investigators, referring consultants, and pharmaceutical sponsors.

Manage all aspects of trial patient care, including outpatient and inpatient assessments, consent, screening, and follow‐up appointments.

Participate in the planning and conduct of Phase I trials of small molecule inhibitors, combination therapies, and CAR‐T or bispecific antibody studies.

Collaborate with the clinical team to support trial recruitment and retention, ensuring timely decision‐making and continuity of care across 7 days.

Assist with administrative duties related to trial care, including SAE queries and safety meetings.

Contribute to the development and planning of new studies, and support the writing of research papers and reviews.

Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and undertake clinical governance and audit duties.

Qualifications & Skills

Clinical experience in Haematology oncology or related specialties.

Knowledge of research governance, clinical governance, research ethics, and Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP).

Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and to communicate with patients and carers.

Time‐management and organisational skills to prioritise patient workload.

Commitment to continuous professional development and participation in CPD activities.

Ability to engage patients and families at an appropriate level of understanding, providing empathy and reassurance.

Confidence in supporting the Trust's governance processes and framework.
