Internal Audit Manager - AML / Financial Crime

About the Role Audit Manager – AML & Financial Crime Audit Services – London, UK (hybrid working arrangement). The role is responsible for project management and end‐to‐end delivery of audit engagements within Northern Trust's AML and Financial Crime audit team.
Key Responsibilities Lead audit project teams, taking ownership and ensuring audit objectives and deadlines are met.
Maintain deep knowledge of business risks, controls, regulatory rules and system dependencies relevant to the audit scope.
Design and execute testing approaches, ensuring clear, concise documentation that supports conclusions.
Identify efficiency opportunities, including data analytics, and collaborate with global team members.
Communicate audit status proactively, leading discussions with stakeholders and management when issues or risks are identified.
Compile findings and recommendations and produce audit reports, memos and status updates.
Build and maintain strong relationships with audit department colleagues and business stakeholders.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to process enhancements.
Execute broader continuous monitoring activities across assigned areas as needed.
Qualifications and Experience Proven assurance experience in internal audit, external audit, monitoring or testing within a financial institution or consulting environment.
Experience in AML, economic sanctions or fraud (preferred).
Formal AML, sanctions or fraud education and/or certifications such as ACAMS or CFE (preferred).
Ability to work independently and lead end‐to‐end audit projects, manage multiple priorities, and engage senior stakeholders.
Experience with audit work‐paper applications like Teammate (advantageous).
Strong analytical skills and ability to utilize data analytics methodologies.
Adaptability and positive attitude in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
Valid right to work in the United Kingdom; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
