Junior Motion Designer

Job description

The AI‐Native Junior Motion Designer will support the Moving Image Team and Creative Directors to deliver a consistently high standard of creative motion output across digital, social, PR and traditional applications – at the heart of what we offer our clients. You'll interpret and implement the creative vision across a broad range of projects, bringing a strong and varied motion background.

Elements of the work will also live in social and PR territory – fast‐turn, platform‐native, attention‐grabbing content built to travel. You'll need to design as well as animate for this space: thumb‐stopping frames, clear ideas executed at pace, and an instinct for what earns attention on social feeds and in PR moments.

What makes this role different from the motion designer roles of two years ago is that you are an AI‐native. You'll bring proper Adobe and motion craft, and you live in the new generation of AI video tools. The two sit side by side in how you work.

You are AI‐native. That means:

Generative video and image tools (Runway, Sora, Veo, Omni, Kling, Midjourney, Higgsfield, Luma, and whatever comes next) are part of your default toolkit.

You can prompt, iterate, and direct AI outputs to a specific creative intent, not just accept what comes out of the box.

You build hybrid workflows involving AI generation, AE compositing and finishing, grading, and sound – and you know where each tool earns its place.

You stay current. New model drops, new tools, new techniques – you test them within days, not read about them months later.

You can help explain to a CD, an account team, or a client what's possible, what's not yet, and what's about to be.

Creativity & Innovation

Contribute to original, intelligent, creative ideas for integrated and one‐off tactical campaigns, bringing both motion craft and AI fluency to shape how the work gets made.

Lead with the Motion Lead on AI motion practice for the team – bringing techniques, tools, and workflows back into the group.

Pick up motion projects mid‐flight from other Moving Image team members and maintain consistent quality.

Shape frames, not just animate them – make design calls on type, composition, and layout.

Delivery & Collaboration

See projects through from start to finish with strong project management instincts.

Work seamlessly with the Creative, Strategy, Production, Content and Client Services teams.

Attend video shoots as and when required.

Deliver accurate, timely amendments – fully flexible in a high‐volume environment.

Ensure all deliverables are fit for purpose for the chosen channels and audiences.

Share knowledge across the wider creative team.

Mindset

Listen to feedback and use it to improve both the work and your skillset.

Stay current with developing technologies across motion production – this is non‐negotiable for this role.

Work as part of the team to deliver agency objectives.

Experience

Experience of motion design with a reel that proves both craft and AI fluency.

Strong After Effects and wider Adobe Creative Cloud fluency.

Demonstrable, current AI video practice – visible in your reel, socials, or side projects.

Design instinct – composition, type, layout.

Comfort in a high‐volume, fast‐amend agency environment.

Proven ability to design and create motion content for social and PR campaigns – not just adapt traditional work into social cutdowns.

Curiosity and speed: you experiment constantly and bring it back to the team.

Nice to have

Cinema 4D and Redshift.

Sound design / edit chops.

Prior agency or in‐house brand team experience.
