Healthcare Assistant

Job description

We're recruiting a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join a community-based charity supporting adults affected by drug and alcohol use.

Role: Healthcare Assistant

Contract: 3-6 months on going

Working: 30 hours per week

Rate: £17 per hour (umbrella)

Location: Norwich

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out physical health checks and screenings
• Support blood testing, ECGs, vaccinations, and toxicology testing (training provided where required)
• Deliver harm reduction advice, including needle exchange and naloxone support
• Assist with community alcohol and opioid detox programmes
• Promote health, wellbeing, and recovery through one-to-one support
• Work closely with nurses and partner agencies to deliver person-centred care
• Experience as a Healthcare Assistant or within a health, social care, or substance misuse setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A compassionate, non-judgemental approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Care Certificate or relevant healthcare qualification is desirable but not essential
