Business Development Manager – Healthcare Textiles (South England, Field Sales)

Interweave Textiles Limited is looking for a Business Development Manager – Healthcare Textiles (South England, Field Sales)

Job description

Salary: £40,000–£50,000 basic (experience dependent), plus uncapped commission on sales growth

OTE: Circa £10k on top of basic in a typical year — with genuine scope to earn more if you overperform (this isn't a capped bonus scheme)

Role style: Predominantly remote/field-based, with two office days per month

Benefits: Company vehicle or car allowance, pension, life insurance

Reports to: Commercial Director

About us:

We're a healthcare textile manufacturer, distributor and retailer, part of a £29 million turnover group. You'll be joining a sales team of 5 within a wider 22-person business — small enough that your work is visible, big enough to back you with proper marketing, logistics and customer service support.

The role:

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to grow our presence across NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers and healthcare distributors in the South of England.

Territory:

The South of England & Wales, roughly everything south of a line running from the Severn Estuary, east past Northampton and Peterborough, up to the Wash near King's Lynn. In practice: the South West, South East, London, and East Anglia — Birmingham, Leicester and the Midlands sit outside the patch. We're happy to talk through the exact boundary towns at interview.

Travel is day trips around the region, with the occasional overnight stays.

You'll:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across NHS and private healthcare
  • Identify and win new business for our patient handling, fall prevention and wider patient care product ranges
  • Work with procurement and clinical teams to support product evaluations and trials
  • Deliver product demonstrations and training to end users
  • Lead Trust-wide rollouts following successful trials or tenders
  • Work with our marketing, customer service and logistics teams to keep customers happy
  • Keep on top of sales forecasting, CRM updates and activity reporting (full training given on our in-house CRM — it's a bit different to what you'll have used before, so no prior experience needed)
  • Stay current on NHS procurement frameworks, budgets and clinical guidelines relevant to patient handling and safety
  • Represent us at relevant conferences, exhibitions and seminars

What you'll need:

  • A full, valid UK driving licence
  • 3–5 years' experience in a business development or field sales role, ideally including time selling into hospital or healthcare settings
  • Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to manage your own diary and pipeline
  • A track record of winning new business, not just managing existing accounts
  • IT literacy and comfort learning a new CRM system

We don't screen on qualifications — some of the best salespeople we've worked with don't have a degree, and we're far more interested in what you've achieved than where you studied.

It would help if you had:

  • Experience selling into NHS or private healthcare specifically
  • Tele-sales as well as face-to-face sales experience
  • Experience managing a mix of new business and existing accounts side by side
