HGV Class 1 Driver – Portbury, Bristol

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Portbury, Bristol.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver, Truck Driver, or Commercial Driver.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday
• Day and night shifts available

Rates of Pay

 • £18.00 per hour – Days
• £19.00 per hour – Nights

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

 • Completing Class 1 multi-drop deliveries
• Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required
• Adhering to UK road traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

 • A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence
• A minimum of 12 months' Category CE driving experience
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No major endorsement codes
• A valid UK CPC Qualification Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• A good level of spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
• A strong understanding of UK road traffic laws and transport regulations
• Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience

 • Previous commercial Class 1 driving experience

Training Provided

 • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
