Junior Graphic Designer We are a thriving design agency looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll support the creation of branding and website design projects, working closely with our design, development, and project management teams to deliver high‐quality work while developing your skills and experience.
Who We Are Based in Blyth (just outside of Newcastle!), Canny Creative builds brands and websites for clients all over the world, from Canada to Japan and the UK. As we continue to grow rapidly, we're looking for an enthusiastic designer who is eager to learn, develop, and grow alongside our team.
Your Responsibilities Assist with the creation of brand identities and website designs.
Support senior designers in developing creative concepts and project deliverables.
Conduct basic market, competitor, and client research.
Help prepare design presentations, mock‐ups, and documentation.
Collaborate with developers to help ensure designs are implemented correctly.
Ensure brand identity guidelines are followed across projects.
Create graphics and marketing materials for both client and internal projects.
Stay up‐to‐date with design trends, tools, and technologies.
Participate in team reviews and take on board feedback to improve your work.
Contribute ideas and creative solutions during project discussions.
Required Skills Basic to intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma.
Good understanding of design principles, typography, layout, and colour theory.
Willingness to learn branding, website design, UX, and UI best practices.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Positive attitude and willingness to receive constructive feedback.
Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Google Gemini.
Ideal (But Not Essential) Skills A design‐related degree, qualification, or relevant portfolio.
Experience with WordPress.
Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
Knowledge of motion design or After Effects.
Experience creating content for social media or digital marketing.
Ability to sketch and develop creative concepts.
Understanding of accessibility and user experience principles.
What You'll Love About Us Salary: £24,000 – £28,000 (experience dependent)
4‐day work week (Monday to Thursday)
