We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to take ownership of a key production area, driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and high standards across Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, and Performance.


The Role:


As Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing production team, ensuring customer demands are met while driving efficiencies, reducing waste, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.


You will have full ownership and accountability for your production area, managing day-to-day operations while identifying opportunities to improve processes, performance, and productivity.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Drive Health & Safety, Quality, Cost reduction, waste reduction, and operational performance across production areas
  • Take full ownership and accountability of the production department
  • Monitor production output and ensure delivery against business requirements
  • Plan workflows, resources, and labour requirements in line with demand
  • Review team performance and identify training and development opportunities
  • Motivate, coach, and develop teams to improve engagement and efficiency
  • Maintain and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and monthly production performance
  • Lead and deliver change initiatives within the department
  • Work closely with Materials and Production Planning teams to optimise production flow
  • Drive continuous improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives
  • Manage budgets and resources in line with business expectations


About You:


You will be an experienced Production Manager or Operations professional with a strong background within food manufacturing and a proven track record of leading teams within a fast-paced environment.


You will have the ability to influence change, improve performance, and develop a positive team culture while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.


Candidate Requirements:


  • Strong background in food manufacturing with experience across Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Transport operations
  • Proven production management experience
  • Experience managing teams of 100+ employees
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage challenging environments and drive long-term development
  • Demonstrable experience delivering operational change and improvement initiatives
  • Confident working independently with the ability to influence and create change
  • Experience managing return-to-work processes and disciplinary procedures
  • Proven ability to create and deliver KPIs and service delivery improvements for customers
  • Strong knowledge of BRC standards and food safety compliance requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • PC literate with strong knowledge of inventory systems, MRP, and performance measurement tools
  • Results-driven with a commercial mindset
