Job description
About FairArt
At FairArt, we are creating a fairer, more profitable art market for all.
Founded on the principles of accessibility and equitability, FairArt is creating the industry’s first collector-to-collector live marketplace and global artist royalty scheme for the secondary art market.
Our platform offers collectors and artists innovative solutions to many of the industry’s long-standing issues around opacity, ownership, elitism, inaccessibility, illiquidity and high fees.
FairArt is:
- Fair for the buyer - Creates complete price transparency and access to unrivalled information
- Fair for the seller - Offers the quickest route to sale in the market with industry-leading fees
- Fair for the artist - Establishes the first equitable international framework for compensation
We are rebalancing the scales and bringing the market to a new generation of consumers.
With more than 35,000 collector sign-ups, we are now focused on building deeper, long-term relationships with our collector base through a more personalised, advisory-led sales experience.
The Role
We are hiring a highly-motivated Senior Art Sales Advisor to take ownership of FairArt's collector-facing revenue and lead our growing sales team.
This is a hands-on commercial role focused on building trust with collectors, guiding acquisitions, and developing long-term collector relationships.
The ideal candidate is not simply a salesperson, but a credible contemporary art specialist who can act as a trusted advisor to collectors. You should be confident discussing artists, editions, pricing, market trends, liquidity, and collection building.
You will work closely with the founders, marketing, and product teams to help shape a more premium, relationship-led collector experience.
Key Responsibilities
Team leadership
- Manage and coach FairArt's Sales & Partnerships Associate; set targets and provide day-to-day direction.
- Help interview, select, and onboard FairArt's Sales Development Representative, and define how leads are handed between roles.
- Own team-wide revenue targets and report progress to the founders.
Collector Relationship Management
- Build and manage long-term relationships with FairArt's key UK and US collectors.
- Develop a deep understanding of collector preferences, budgets, and collecting behaviour; provide tailored recommendations.
- Deliver a highly responsive, trusted, premium experience to top-tier collectors.
- Drive repeat purchases and increase collector lifetime value.
Contemporary Art Advisory
- Confidently advise collectors on artists, editions, pricing, liquidity, market trends, and collection strategy.
- Speak credibly about the contemporary editions and prints market.
- Maintain strong awareness of auction activity, gallery programmes, and collector sentiment.
Sales Process & Pipeline Design
- Select and implement a CRM suited to the team's scale and budget (e.g. HubSpot, Pipedrive, Close).
- Own the segmentation of the 35k collector sign-ups into the CRM.
- Design and document the sales processes the team runs on: lead handling, follow-up cadences, pipeline stages, and segmentation of the 35k collector base.
- Define which collectors are handled personally vs. Routed to the Sales Development Representative
- Improve conversion and repeat-purchase rates across the collector journey; own the dormant-collector reactivation strategy.
About You
- 7+ years of experience in contemporary art sales, art advisory, galleries, auction houses, or collector-facing art market roles.
- Deep knowledge of the contemporary art market, particularly post-war, urban, and contemporary editions/prints.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior sales staff, or clear readiness to step into a leadership role.
- Proven experience building trust and long-term relationships with collectors or high-value clients.
- Strong commercial instincts and ability to drive revenue growth.
- Experience selecting, implementing, or administering a CRM in a small or startup sales team (HubSpot, Pipedrive, Close, or similar).
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment.
Highly Desirable
- Existing network or address book of collectors and art market contacts.
- Experience building or scaling a sales function from scratch.
Don’t meet every single requirement? FairArt is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive team so we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
What Success Looks Like
- A functioning, well-managed sales team.
- Increased repeat purchase rate and retention among top-tier collectors.
- A documented, repeatable sales process the whole team follows.
- Consistent pipeline growth and revenue generation.
Why Join Us?
- Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission on marketplace and margin sales.
- Meaningful stock options
- Flexible role in London, mostly working out of our coworking office at the beautiful Somerset House.
- Work in a dynamic startup environment where you can make a real impact.
- A chance to engage with an exciting network of artists, collectors, and industry professionals.
