Electrical Design Engineer

Oxford area (hybrid)

£55 per hour

2 days from home

Mon–Fri (37 hours)

Certain Advantage is partnering with a key client to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer. You’ll be responsible for supporting design work on major fusion sub-systems, from concept through to detailed design on enhancement programs.

What will you be doing?

• Own design responsibility for assigned systems/components, including repairs, upgrades, and replacements.
• Implement and manage design requirements, interfaces, and compliance processes across teams.
• Validate detailed designs with engineers, analysts, and suppliers, ensuring adherence to standards and manufacturability.
• Deliver projects to meet customer expectations within defined constraints.
• Produce technical reports, procedures, and supporting documentation as needed.
• Lead or oversee design outputs, including drawings, BOMs, and cable schedules, applying value engineering and design-for-manufacture principles.

A couple of things you should know:

• C&I or good engineering background
• UK regulations for electrical safety
• CAD or SolidWorks Electrical
• Understanding of the operation of data configuration control
• Ability to perform exploratory design concepts using first principles

During an interview, you may be asked about:

• BS EN 60204-1 / BS EN 61082
