Job description
Architect - Healthcare
Glasgow | £40,000–£50,000 DOE | Revit
Confero Recruitment Group is partnering with a Glasgow studio known for delivering complex, safety‑critical environments across the UK and internationally. Their work spans acute healthcare, mental health facilities, diagnostic centres, laboratories, and high‑performance public buildings all designed with the precision, clarity and technical rigour these environments demand.
This is an opportunity to join a team that blends clinical insight, evidence‑based design and robust technical delivery, producing buildings that genuinely improve patient outcomes, staff wellbeing and long‑term operational efficiency.
Why this role is different
- Sector-leading healthcare expertise . The studio is trusted on major hospital redevelopments, specialist treatment centres, mental health facilities, and complex refurbishment programmes.
- Interdisciplinary delivery model where architects work closely with in‑house engineers, planners, interior designers and clinical specialists, creating fully integrated solutions rather than siloed packages.
- Real-world impact where every project is tied to measurable improvements in patient flow, infection control, accessibility, sustainability and clinical performance.
- A global knowledge base where the Glasgow team benefits from shared standards, research, and best practice developed across multiple international healthcare projects.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and contributing to RIBA Stages 2–6 on healthcare projects ranging from acute wards and diagnostic suites to specialist treatment environments and complex refurbishments.
- Developing coordinated Revit models and detailed technical packages aligned with clinical workflows, HTM/HBN guidance and stringent compliance requirements.
- Working directly with clinicians, estates teams, engineers and infection‑control specialists to solve spatial, operational and regulatory challenges.
- Supporting delivery on site, ensuring design intent is protected through construction, commissioning and handover.
- Contributing to research‑driven design approaches, sustainability strategies and continuous improvement of healthcare standards within the studio.
What we’re looking for
- Qualified Architect with strong UK technical delivery experience.
- Demonstrable capability working on regulated, complex or safety‑critical buildings — healthcare experience is ideal but not essential.
- Confident using Revit in a coordinated, multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong understanding of compliance, detailing, and how buildings perform in real clinical settings.
- Someone who thrives in a collaborative, integrated team and enjoys solving problems with engineers and specialists.
What’s on offer
- £40,000–£48,000 depending on experience.
- A portfolio of meaningful, socially impactful healthcare projects.
- Access to a wider global network of sector specialists, research and best practice.
- Clear progression into senior technical or project leadership roles.
Hybrid working, long-term stability and a supportive, delivery-focused culture.
