The Role

As a result of continued growth, the firm is seeking a Director‑level Corporate Tax professional to take on a senior leadership role within its business tax function. The Director will play a key role in leading complex corporate tax work, advising clients on strategic matters, and contributing to the ongoing development of the firm’s tax offering. The position offers a blend of technical delivery, people leadership and commercial input, with clear scope to influence both client outcomes and internal strategy. This opportunity would suit an experienced Associate Director or Director seeking greater autonomy, profile and long‑term progression.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Tax Leadership

  • Leading and overseeing complex corporate and business tax engagements
  • Reviewing and approving corporate tax computations and returns
  • Ensuring high technical standards and compliance with legislation and HMRC guidance

Advisory & Technical Input

  • Providing strategic tax advice on areas including restructurings, transactions, group planning and business growth
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to business owners, finance directors and senior stakeholders
  • Identifying tax risks and opportunities and delivering commercially focused solutions

Business Development & Growth

  • Supporting the development of new client relationships and service opportunities
  • Contributing to proposals, pitches and client meetings
  • Building and maintaining strong professional networks

People Leadership

  • Leading, mentoring and developing members of the corporate tax team
  • Supporting training, performance management and career progression
  • Promoting a collaborative, high‑performing team culture

Client Relationship Management

  • Managing a portfolio of key clients
  • Ensuring consistently high levels of service and client satisfaction
  • Identifying opportunities for additional advisory and cross‑service work

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Significant post‑qualification experience in Corporate or Business Tax within an accountancy practice
  • Proven experience leading complex tax engagements and advising at senior client level
  • Strong commercial awareness and client‑facing capability
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop teams
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence effectively
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
