Reports To: Head of Sustainability, AI & Automation

Role Overview

The AI Champion is responsible for driving the adoption, integration, and optimisation of Microsoft 365 Copilot and related AI tools across Techbuyer. Reporting to the Head of AI and Automation and working closely with the IT team, this role acts as a strategic enabler, helping teams unlock productivity, streamline workflows, and embed AI capabilities into daily operations. The successful candidate will work cross‑functionally to identify high‑impact use cases, deliver training, and ensure responsible AI usage aligned with company goals and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Champion Adoption & Engagement

  • Promote awareness and understanding of Microsoft Copilot and Power Platform capabilities across departments.
  • Lead onboarding sessions, workshops, and 1:1 coaching to support effective usage.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Copilot‑related queries, feedback, and support.

Use Case Development & Optimisation

  • Collaborate with business units to identify, prioritise, and implement AI‑enhanced workflows.
  • Design and deliver automation solutions using Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot Studio.
  • Monitor usage patterns and continuously refine processes to improve outcomes.

Governance & Best Practices

  • Ensure AI usage complies with data security, privacy, and governance policies.
  • Work with IT and Security to manage permissions, integrations, and updates.
  • Document and share best practices, success stories, and lessons learned.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track adoption metrics, user satisfaction, and productivity improvements.
  • Provide regular reports to leadership on ROI and strategic impact.
  • Recommend enhancements based on user feedback and evolving business needs.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in digital transformation, IT enablement, or business process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Copilot, Power Platform, and SharePoint.
  • Experience delivering training and supporting change management initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview and DLP policies.

Desirable

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g. PL-200, AI‑102, SC‑900).
  • Experience with prompt engineering and Copilot Studio.
  • Background in sustainability, operations, or data‑driven decision‑making.
