Chief Financial Officer (CFO) | Defence & International Growth

Ready to shape the financial future of a high-impact organisation operating at the forefront of the defence sector? This is more than a CFO role it’s an opportunity to influence strategy, drive growth, and play a key role in nationally significant programmes.

We’re looking for a commercially astute, strategic finance leader to join the executive team and help steer the business through its next phase of UK and international expansion.

The Opportunity

As CFO, you will provide strategic financial leadership across the organisation, ensuring robust financial stewardship, long‑term sustainability, and effective capital deployment. You’ll work closely with senior defence customers, prime contractors, and government stakeholders — bringing credibility, transparency, and commercial rigour to major programmes and bids.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Partner with the CEO and Executive Team to drive performance, strategy, and shareholder value
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term growth strategies
  • Deliver clear, insightful financial reporting to the Board, enabling confident decision‑making
  • Build and maintain strong governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks
  • Support major bids, programmes, and investment decisions with robust financial insight
  • Optimise capital allocation to maximise return and support strategic priorities
  • Strengthen relationships with auditors, banks, regulators, and key external stakeholders
  • Develop and lead a high‑performing finance function

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven CFO (or senior finance leader) experience within complex, regulated environments
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of influencing strategic decisions
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to engage and influence at Board level
  • Deep expertise in financial planning, modelling, governance, and risk management
  • Experience working with government stakeholders, defence customers, or similar sectors
  • Professional qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA or equivalent)
