About the Team
The Actuarial team delivers a range of traditional and bespoke services, including reserving, capital management, SolvencyII, Statement of Actuarial Opinion, pricing and IFRS17. We support our external audit team and serve clients across personal lines, the London Market and international clients in the US, Bermuda and Asia.
About the Role
We are looking for a Director who will lead projects in the key service area of Capital. The successful candidate will attain Responsible Individual status and will have final signing responsibility for projects within 12 months of joining.
Responsibilities
- Seize market opportunities and help grow the firm.
- Drive the Capital practice and lead capital modelling and validation projects.
- Develop and manage a small team of actuaries.
- Maintain high standards of quality, communication and client service.
- Proactively manage time, deliver on commitments and work well with colleagues.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience within non‑life insurance, specifically in capital modelling and model validation.
- Qualified non‑life actuary.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel, VBA and Access.
- Experience with other actuarial software such as R is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills and technical attention to detail.
- Interest in managing people and preferably experience leading small teams.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
