Job description
Overview
Salaried GP | Near Northampton, Northamptonshire
A well‑organised, high‑performing practice with a genuine commitment to clinical quality and a workload model built around what GPs actually need: 15‑minute appointments, a cap of 25 patients per day, and a dedicated admin team that keeps unnecessary tasks away from doctors. This is a role where the infrastructure has been thoughtfully designed, not left to chance.
The practice has a long‑established training and education culture, hosting GP registrars and medical students as part of a programme that extends well beyond a token placement. For the right candidate, this is where professional development is taken seriously and has the systems to back it up.
Location
The practice is located in West Northamptonshire, within easy reach of Northampton (≈25 minutes), Rugby (≈25 minutes) and Coventry (≈35 minutes), with good road links and a mix of urban and rural surroundings.
Practice Features
- Consistently 100% QOF achievement over the last three consecutive years.
- Purpose‑built premises adjoining a community hospital, with on‑site diagnostics, attached pharmacy and free parking.
- Mid‑sized practice serving a varied patient demographic across urban and rural communities.
- Strong partnership team alongside a large salaried GP team.
- Broad MDT including ANPs, a paramedic and clinical pharmacists, reducing GP admin burden.
- Dedicated coding and secretarial teams; GPs do not handle referral administration directly.
- Tier2 visa sponsorship available.
- CQC rated Good overall, with Outstanding for Well‑Led.
Your Role
6 sessions per week, with flexibility on days and timings to suit the right candidate.
- 15‑minute appointments throughout, with a maximum of 25 bookable patient contacts per day.
- Duty rota shared across the GP team, typically falling approximately once a fortnight.
- Extended access via occasional weekday evenings (≈once per month) and Saturdays (≈once every six months), with Saturday sessions returned as TOIL.
- SystmOne clinical system.
- Structured induction with reviews at 3 and 6 months.
- Both newly qualified and experienced GPs are welcomed.
Salary and Benefits
- Salaried GP of £11,000 per session on commencement, rising to £11,660 per session following successful completion of a 6‑month review.
- NHS Pension.
- Professional fees covered.
- 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays.

You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK performers list.
