Class 1 HGV Driver

Job description

Vibe Recruit is currently looking for an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join a busy and well-established distribution operation in the Blackwood area.

This is a Monday to Friday position offering consistent hours with no weekend work, making it an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking a regular work pattern.

Location: Blackwood
Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: £15.74 per h

Shift Pattern :

• Shift A: 5:00am - 3:00pm
• Shift B: 6:00am - 4:00pm
• Shift C: 7:00am - 5:00pm
• Shift D: 10:00am - 9:00pm
• 10-hour shifts
• Day shifts with varying start times to support operational requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 HGV vehicle in line with all road traffic legislation and company procedures.
• Carry out shunting and trailer movements around the site, ensuring vehicles are positioned safely and efficiently.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects promptly.
• Ensure all transport documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain compliance with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations.
• Communicate effectively with the transport team, warehouse staff and shift supervisors to ensure the smooth running of the operation.
• Follow all site Health & Safety policies and safe systems of work.
• Represent the business professionally at all times, maintaining high standards of driving and customer service where required.
• Support the wider transport operation with additional driving duties as required.

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 HGV licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• A professional and reliable approach to work.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
