Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

All our CAMHS teams have a wide mix of skills and experience in their multi‑disciplinary teams and enthusiastic, supportive colleagues, highly skilled and cohesive environment. The Consultants across CAMHS meet regularly for academic, professional and social support with a well‑respected training scheme for trainees placed across the services. It goes without saying that you’ll be expected to take part in frontline work and/or on call, though with a large increase in consultant numbers we anticipate you’ll still have the capacity to make use of the facilities of our large University Hospital.
Main duties of the job
To start with, job plans will initially consist of 10 PAs comprising 8 PAs direct clinical care and 2 SPAs. That said, we are flexible about the composition of the clinical part of the job plan and would be able to offer more than 2 SPAs to individuals with a substantial interest in teaching or research and will also consider part‑time working too. Each job plan will be reviewed annually by the Locality Lead Consultant and/or Clinical Director.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research
- MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College Of Psychiatrists
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence practise at the time of appointment
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within six months
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and condition on practice
Transport
- Holds and will use valid UK licence OR provide of proposed alternative
