We're currently recruiting a dedicated Linen Assistant to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Healthcare on a part time basis, contracted to 20 hours per week.

As a Linen Assistant, you will use your skills to maintain a high standard of facility management with the wider facilities team. KEY DUTIES
• Complete the checking and receiving of clean stock received from the outside contractor. This includes daily quality audits of clean stock.
• Undertake the packing of customer stock requirements for distribution.
• Undertake the checking of customer stock requirements within clinical/non-clinical areas.
• Replenishing of stock within clinical/non-clinical area.
• Complete checking of linen cupboards within clinical areas to ensure that signage is visible to all staff.
• Operate outside contractor computer systems and complete any required tasks e.g. Printing of packing sheets and making amendments.
• Conduct quality audits on Return to Sender stock e.g. Curtains, duvet covers. Raise any concerns to supervisor/manager.
• Respond to any ad-hoc requests made to Linen Services via telephone or via the Helpdesk.
• Collection of dirty mops/curtains for laundering following the Return to Sender policy for the contractor.
• To ensure all waste bins and containers are emptied regularly and cleaned where necessary and that correct bin bags are provided, and that refuse is placed in appropriate bags for collection within the Linen Department.
• To ensure that the Linen Department is left: clean, tidy and secure at the end of each shift.
• To support in the collection of customer satisfaction surveys of users of the Linen Service.
• To operate an electric tug machine/electric pallet truck and ensure that electric tug machine/electric pallet truck is maintained and cleaned to the required standard. To report any faults to supervisor/manager of the service.
• To be able to drive a 3.5 tonne vehicle.
• To comply with current Transport legislation.
• To support in the delivery/collection of customer stock/consumables within the Trust or other areas e.g. Hospital accommodation.
• To ensure all duties are carried out in line with Health & Safety requirements and Trust policies and guidelines and departmental work instructions.
• To ensure good customer relations
• To ensure compliance to all Risk Management Procedures.
• To ensure economical use of cleaning materials.
• Report any signs of pest infestation or maintenance faults to the FM helpdesk.
• Any other reasonable management requests.
