About The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior commercial lawyer to help build the business within the exciting and dynamic environment at FTI Consulting. The EMEA Legal, Risk & Compliance Team handles a challenging and varied workload covering all legal issues arising from the operation of a professional services business. The role supports the Business strategy by delivering pragmatic, adaptable and solution-based legal advice to all levels within the business in EMEA. The Europe, Middle East and Africa region comprises 31 offices in 17 countries: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
What You’ll Do
- Negotiate, draft and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts, including multi-jurisdictional projects.
- Advise EMEA senior management, client-facing professionals and the Legal, Risk & Compliance team on corporate and commercial law matters.
- Collaborate with the Legal, Risk & Compliance Team to develop a best-in-class function that partners with the business to drive profitability, growth and success.
- Manage external legal counsel across EMEA to ensure quality and value of legal services.
- Maintain and adapt standard templates in line with company policies and local law.
- Provide support on litigation, disputes, transactions (including M&A) and business development activities as needed.
- Identify, develop and implement forms and processes to improve efficiency in handling internal legal matters.
- Analyze current and emerging legal and risk issues and communicate mitigation activities to appropriate business levels.
- Develop expertise in FTI’s practice areas and build relationships with client-facing professionals.
- Engage across functions, support other areas, and manage relationships at a senior level.
- Support the Employment legal team on employment law issues and manage employee matters from a legal perspective.
- Support the Legal, Risk & Compliance Team in maintaining the EMEA corporate entity structure and work with the DPO on Data Protection matters.
- Mentor and train junior lawyers in the team.

Basic Qualifications Qualified solicitor with at least 8 years PQE, with experience in corporate and commercial law, leading on complex contracts and advising on a broad range of matters. Strong grounding in corporate and commercial law and experience in both private practice and in-house settings.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in the professional services sector and/or a US multinational organization is advantageous. Working knowledge of employment law and coordination with HR or external counsel is beneficial. Exposure to litigation or dispute management is a plus. Additional European language skills are an advantage.
