HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver – Salisbury

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver to join our growing waste and recycling operation based in Salisbury.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, Refuse Driver, Refuse Truck Driver, Waste Collection Driver, Recycling Driver, or Dustcart Driver.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday
• 06:30 start time

Rates of Pay

 • £15.50 per hour
• Weekly pay

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver, your duties will include:

 • Carrying out full daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects
• Driving the refuse vehicle safely along assigned collection routes
• Operating bin-lifting equipment to empty waste and recycling containers
• Working safely as part of a collection crew and following loading signals
• Ensuring all waste is collected efficiently and routes are completed
• Following strict health and safety procedures at all times, especially in public areas
• Recording and reporting issues such as missed bins, contamination, or access problems
• Providing excellent customer service when dealing with members of the public
• Assisting the collection crew where required

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver, you will need:

 • A valid UK Category C Driving Licence
• A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No major endorsement codes
• Reliability, professionalism, and punctuality
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A good understanding of road safety and transport compliance
• The ability to work as part of a team in a physically demanding role

Desirable Experience

 • Previous multi-drop delivery experience would be advantageous
• Previous experience driving refuse vehicles within the waste management sector would be beneficial
• Experience working in outdoor or physically demanding roles would be desirable

Training Provided

 • Full industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
