Are you an experienced and forward-thinking pharmacist looking for your next leadership opportunity in a specialist clinical role? Frimley Health is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and highly skilled pharmacist to join our Gastroenterology team as a Band 8a Specialist Pharmacist.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred pharmaceutical care within Gastroenterology, while providing expert clinical leadership across the Trust. Based at Frimley Park Hospital, this post also carries cross-site responsibilities, offering the chance to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and influence service delivery on a wider scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop the clinical pharmacy service to patients within the specialist area.
• Provide clinical pharmacy services to patients within the specialist areas.
• Act as a role model in the field of clinical pharmacy practice and provide a consistently high standard of clinical service in line with the pharmacy objectives.
• Support the recruitment, management and development of staff under the postholder.
• Work closely with the senior pharmacists, clinicians, nursing staff and other senior managers to develop pharmaceutical services to patients within the directorate.
• Ensure close relations cross-site with the Gastroenterology team at Wexham Park Hospital.
• Attend ward rounds / clinics when appropriate and able.
• Work with the Surgical Lead Pharmacist in the provision and delivery of a TPN service.
• Provide a clinical pharmacy service to specialised areas and a clinical pharmacy service to cover other areas when ward cover is needed.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree (Masters level 4 years)
• Registered with GPhC
• Postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent
• Independent Prescriber (or intention to become one)
• Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
• MSc or higher degree
• UKCPA membership
• RPS membership

Experience

• Experience of producing guidelines
• Experience of producing drug appraisals
• Experience of managing staff
• Significant post-qualification experience working as a pharmacist in a clinical environment.
• Regular experience of providing clinical pharmacy support
• Teaching/tutoring experience

Salary: £57,888 to £64,880 per annum, including HCAS.
