Job description
As a Junior RTW Designer, you will work with the Design team to develop the women's ready‐to‐wear collection. You will contribute to research, design, and development to create innovative and progressive designs.
Responsibilities
Conduct research to support the team and identify new and progressive designs.
Apply a variety of research techniques, including library and market research.
Seek and identify interesting items for shape, material, and treatment reference during research trips.
Assist in preparing design presentations, mood boards, and seasonal inspiration materials.
Develop new designs for the RTW collections in close collaboration with the senior design team.
Experiment with different ideas, techniques, and materials to enhance creativity and diversity within collections.
Develop ideas 3‐dimensionally and explore original, modern approaches to design.
Push the collection toward luxury and innovation while maintaining a true Mulberry aesthetic.
Collaborate with the wider team to develop colour palettes, fabric selections, prints, and garment details.
Support the integration of sustainable design principles throughout the design process.
Complete accurate specification sheets for suppliers.
Ensure critical paths are adhered to and work toward key dates; identify potential risks and review actions to avoid delays.
Work with suppliers to ensure prototypes arrive for planned fit meetings or prototype reviews.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure designs are provided in a timely manner for prototype development.
Participate in fit sessions and support design revisions based on feedback.
Ensure all salesman samples arrive on time for any deadlines.
Work closely with production teams to ensure product specifications are accurate for target costings and production handover.
Produce accurate sketches and CADs, and record modifications after fits to provide to the production team.

Skills and Knowledge Required
Appropriate degree supported by a strong portfolio.
Experience in a similar position within the fashion industry.
Wide knowledge of ready‐to‐wear categories.
Strong understanding of sustainable design practices.
Experience producing and maintaining CADs.
Experience working in a busy design studio, organising and prioritising a demanding workload.
Experience in designing, planning, and developing a collection.
Enthusiastic and passionate about fashion.
Reliable and practical.
Ability to work effectively with a team and independently.
