HGV Class 1 Driver – Flatbed Tramping – Magor

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver – Flatbed Tramping to join our well-established client based in Magor, Monmouthshire.

\n

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Flatbed Driver, Tramping Driver, or Truck Driver.

Shifts

\n

 • Days, Nights and various shift patterns available
\n  • Tramping role
\n  • Guaranteed 50 hours per week

\n

Rates of Pay

\n

 • £16.00 - £17.00 per hour
\n  • £25.00 tax-free night out allowance per night
\n  • Enhanced weekend and Bank Holiday rates

\n

Day-to-Day Duties

\n

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

\n

 • Operating Category CE flatbed vehicles safely and efficiently
\n  • Completing nationwide flatbed deliveries
\n  • Manual load securing using chains and straps
\n  • Conducting pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections
\n  • Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant before departure
\n  • Working in accordance with FORS Gold safety standards
\n  • Completing all transport documentation accurately
\n  • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
\n  • Providing a professional service at customer delivery locations

\n

Essential Skills

\n

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

\n

 • A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence
\n  • A valid CPC Qualification Card
\n  • A valid Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • A minimum of three months' flatbed trailer experience
\n  • Experience using chains and straps to secure loads
\n  • Knowledge of FORS Gold safety standards
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
\n  • A reliable, professional approach with excellent communication skills

\n

Desirable Experience

\n

 • Previous tramping experience
\n  • Experience within steel, construction or flatbed transport operations
\n  • Long-distance Class 1 driving experience

\n

Training Provided

\n

 • Fully funded CPC training
