SENIOR TECHNICAL MANAGER
Location: Stancombe Quarry and Asphalt Plant, Bristol OR Hendy Quarry, Pontyclun, Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales
Lead Technical Excellence – Drive Performance. Shape the Future. This senior technical manager will join the South West and Wales Leadership Team, guiding the regional technical function across our aggregates and asphalt business. The role is highly influential, responsible for delivering technical excellence, supporting strategic objectives, and developing a high‑performing team to ensure long‑term success in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the regional technical team to deliver exceptional performance.
- Drive the technical strategy and optimisation priorities across the region.
- Support operational teams to improve efficiency and maximise product performance, including the use of RAP materials.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and quality enhancement.
- Provide technical solutions and pavement design proposals for contract bids.
- Build strong relationships with customers, highways engineers, local authorities and industry stakeholders.
- Coach and develop future leaders through effective succession planning.
- Promote a culture of safety, collaboration and operational excellence.
Qualifications & What We’re Looking For
- Significant experience within aggregates and asphalt technical operations.
- Strong track record of delivering business results through effective leadership.
- Excellent knowledge of aggregate and asphalt specifications, standards and legislation.
- Proven experience delivering financial and operational targets.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Commercial awareness and a customer‑focused approach.
- Confidence to challenge, influence and drive positive change.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A passion for developing people and building high‑performing teams.
