Senior Theatre Practitioner - Orthopaedic Scrub

Newcastle Hospital – Permanent, Full Time, 37.5 hours per week. Salary: up to £45,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.

Main duties of the job

  • Prioritise patient safety, taking appropriate actions and encouraging colleagues to report safety concerns.
  • Promote a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff in full compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Support governance activity, ensuring full compliance with Nuffield Health's quality governance framework and national standards (CQC/HIW/HIS Regulation, fundamentals of care, professional standards, evidence‑based guidelines).
  • Provide and lead care management and delivery, treating patients, families, friends and representatives with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion and supporting them to cope emotionally with their care, treatment or condition.
  • Collaborate with other clinicians within the hospital, building strong working relationships that enhance patient care and service delivery.
  • Take charge of a theatre, coordinating and delivering work activities and leading junior practitioners.

Qualifications

  • Registered with the appropriate governing body (HCPC).
  • Relevant qualifications and experience, including post‑registration experience.

Experience

  • Proven experience within Orthopaedic Theatre as a Senior.
  • Motivated, flexible, team‑led, with a passion for high standards in perioperative care and a meticulous eye for detail.
