This role offers the chance to develop specialist expertise in accounting, working within a supportive team environment while gaining exposure to statutory accounts preparation, audit support, and treasury management." About the Job The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with and completing the following duties: Support and maintain ledgers across a portfolio of pension scheme accounts Assist with the preparation of annual statutory pension scheme accounts Collect and prepare information required for scheme audits Monitor employer contributions to ensure they are accurately paid, recorded, and accounted for Assist with the management and control of individual scheme bank balances Prepare monthly balances, quarterly fee reconciliations, and VAT reconciliations for specific clients Provide actuaries with trial balances, ledgers, and relevant information for FRS102 and IAS19 accounting reports Participate in AAF and ISO audits, demonstrating compliance with internal processes and quality standards Attend internal and external meetings, ensuring actions and project deadlines are completed effectively Ensure compliance with business processes, relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and HMRC authorised practices Support the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting and administrative duties as required Your Skills & Experience Previous experience in an accounting, finance, or similar role Bookkeeping and general ledger experience Basic understanding of accounting procedures, including budgeting and cash flow management Strong numerical and analytical skills, supported by relevant qualifications Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication to different audiences Understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements, and business processes Ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve deadlines and objectives Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail Eagerness to develop specialist knowledge within pension fund accounting For further information on this opportunity or if you are considering the next step in your career, get in touch with Ollie Mairs at HireIQ in complete confidence.
