HGV Class 1 Driver

Location: Solihull, West Midlands

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a number of HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our well-established client based in Solihull, West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-known supplier of household goods, with plenty of ongoing work available.

This role would suit experienced LGV Class 1 Drivers, CE Drivers, or Articulated Lorry Drivers looking for regular, guaranteed work with excellent weekly earning potential.

Shifts:

• Various shifts and start times available
• Days: 03:00 to 06:00 start (flexibility required)
• Afternoons: 15:00 start (flexibility required)
• Four on, four off
• Ad-hoc shifts available
• Monday to Sunday operation
• Five days out of seven

Pay Rates:

• Monday to Friday: £17.75 per hour
• Saturday: £19.00 per hour
• Sunday: £20.00 per hour

Average Weekly Earnings:

• £887.00 to £910.00 per week

Day To Day Duties:

As a HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

• Store deliveries, typically two to three drops per shift
• Trunking work on afternoon shifts
• Assisting with loading and unloading cargo when carrying out store deliveries
• Conducting vehicle inspections and reporting any defects to management
• Completing all relevant paperwork and vehicle checks

Essential Skills:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE driving licence
• A minimum of three months' Category CE driving experience
• No more than six penalty points, with no major endorsements
• A valid UK Driver CPC Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A good level of spoken and written English
• Experience operating various trailer types
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Desirable Experience:

• More than three months' Category CE driving experience

Training Provided:

• Industry-related training
• Ongoing support and development
