- As an Aspiring Speech and Language Assistant, provide targeted support for pupils with speech, language and communication needs, both in class and through small-group interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, the SEND department and external professionals to help pupils achieve positive outcomes.
- Support pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND; around 10% receive SEN Support and approximately 7% have an EHCP.
- The successful Aspiring Speech and Language Assistant will have a degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Education or a related subject, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, autism or communication needs is highly desirable for an Aspiring Speech and Language Assistant.
- Pupils consistently achieve strong outcomes, including an Attainment 8 score of 57 and 78% achieving Grade 5+ in English and Maths.
