Job description
We would like you to become part of our small but happy team in providing all GMS services to our patients. To provide and assist in the mentoring of students on placement and also to learn from our long established GPs depth of knowledge in working in primary care. To continue to help innovate and improve our surgery to adapt to the changing pace of delivering GP care.
Main duties of the job
- a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
- b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract.
- c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
- d. Effective management of long-term conditions.
- e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks.
- f. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles.
- g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice policy and guidance.
- h. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload.
- i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
- j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
- k. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the QOF.
- l. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required.
About us
Windrush Surgery is a long-established partnership and a town centre practice in Banbury, North Oxfordshire, with a CQC rating of Good and a high QOF score. We are part of a small three-practice PCN, Banbury Alliance.
We mentor retained GPs, are accredited F2 Clinical Supervisors, and supervise GP STs and medical students from the local deanery.
Job responsibilities
Deliver triage telephone and face-to-face care to our patients, improve health outcomes for chronic disease management patients and vulnerable groups including learning disabilities, veterans, and care home residents, and participate in improving access to health care for all through new technologies and innovations.
Person Specification
Experience
- Experience of working in general practice.
- A knowledge of working in primary care and GP practice.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified GP registered with GMC.
